With the second Major of the year the US Open starting today things are looking positive for the european players. With Bryson DeChambeau capturing his second PGA title with a birdie at the second play-off hole to win the Memorial, englishman Justin Rose needed a win to become world number one! But a two-under 70 left him three back in joint sixth. But having won previously the Fort Worth Invitational with stunning display of accuracy and short game he stands in a good position to potentially claim his second US Open Title.
At the memorial Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy had five birdies in a 69 to finish joint eighth at 11 under, but Tiger Woods shot a 72 and was six shots adrift. Can Rory McIlroy make it a second US Open or will the improving Tiger Woods make it no 4? Its really anyones for the taking. Dustin Johnson is playing well, with his win at the Fedex St Jude, so are Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler. Jordan Spieth, although missing the cut at the Memorial isn't to be counted out. Don't forget Phil Mickelson he is showing good form too and with his short game skills who knows could it be Phil? Lee Westwood is showing some form along with Graham McDwoell, Martin Kaymer, Danny Willett, Tommy Fleetwood, Sergio Garcia, Alex Noren, Jon Rahm, Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter. It's all to play for and anyones game!
