Royal Ascot is most definitely the highlight of the flat racing season. The pomp and ceremony, the dress code, the hats and dresses, the daily attendance by Her Majesty the Queen and her entry procession in a horse drawn carriage, it all adds up to a spectacle that could not be more British, and an event to look forward to.
It starts with a tremendous day on 18 June with the Queen Anne Stakes, always much anticipated, and it finishes on Saturday the 22nd.
The prime race of the whole event, and arguably the best flat racing marathon of the year is the Ascot Gold Cup, which will be run on Thursday 20th June.
